Richmond, VA – January 5, 2023 Breeden Construction is proud to announce the completion of a revitalized affordable housing community in Petersburg, Virginia, Pecan Acres. The project was completed for the developer, Petersburg Redevelopment & Housing Authority (PRHA); Breeden Construction served as general contractor.
The $9.2 million project began in March 2021 with the demolition of the older multifamily buildings. Development included ground-up construction of five (5) buildings, consisting of a total of 50 townhome and garden-style apartments, as well as a clubhouse complete with a community meeting room.
The new Pecan Acres residences include stainless-steel appliances and LVT flooring. The revitalization project is part of the Petersburg Redevelopment & Housing Authority’s and the City of Petersburg’s comprehensive plan to rejuvenate and develop more communities in the city.

Breeden Construction also serves as general contractor for another Petersburg Redevelopment & Housing Authority community, Pin Oaks. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of Spring 2023.
