The Breeden Company is proud to spotlight Angie Loew, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Breeden Construction, who is featured in a new Multi-Housing News article, “From the Navy to the C-Suite: The Making of a Multifamily Leader.”
In the candid interview, Angie Loew shares a career story defined not by a carefully mapped-out plan, but by perseverance, independence, hard work and a willingness to keep moving forward when the next step was not always clear.
Her journey began far from the executive suite. After leaving rural Iowa and joining the U.S. Navy at 18, Angie Loew pursued her education while working full time and raising her son. She joined The Breeden Company in 2004 while completing her accounting degree, beginning as a bookkeeper before advancing through four promotions to her current executive leadership role.
The article explores the choices and sacrifices behind that progression, including balancing work, education and motherhood; discovering an unexpected career in accounting; learning the complexities of construction and development; and eventually transitioning from accountant to executive leader. Angie Loew also speaks candidly about building a career in the traditionally male-dominated fields of construction and finance and the importance of allowing knowledge, preparation and results to establish credibility.
Perhaps most importantly, her story serves as a reminder that successful careers do not always follow a straight line. Growth can come from taking the next opportunity, working through uncertainty and remaining willing to learn, adapt and lead when circumstances demand it.
We are proud to see Angie Loew share her story and the experiences that helped shape the leader she is today.
