Ramon W. Breeden, Jr. is Chairman of the Board and founder of The Breeden Company, a nationally ranked developer. Mr. Breeden began his career in single-family home construction and soon progressed to multifamily and commercial developments. He founded The Breeden Company in 1961. Prior to establishing The Breeden Company, he held various positions in real estate sales and mortgage financing.
Mr. Breeden received his Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce in 1956 from the McIntire School of Commerce at The University of Virginia. His post-graduate studies in Business took place at The University of Richmond.
Mr. Breeden was a founder and former member of the board of directors of Commerce Bank in Virginia Beach, Virginia, which was purchased by Branch Bank & Trust (BB&T) of Virginia. He also served as a state director of Branch Banking & Trust Company of Virginia. Mr. Breeden was also a member of the McIntire Foundation Board at The University of Virginia from 1994-1996. Prior to that, he served on the McIntire Advisory Board for several years. He has served as a member of the Advisory Council of the Real Estate Graduate School of Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University. Mr. Breeden has served as president of the Tidewater Builders Association, as well as the state and local director of the Tidewater Association of Home Builders. He currently serves as a member of the board of directors for the Hampton Roads Military, Federal Facilities Alliance and Virginia Beach Education Foundation.
Mr. Breeden has held posts on the boards of several other non-profit organizations. He is a significant supporter of various SPCAs and animal rescue organizations.
As President & Chief Executive Officer at The Breeden Company, Tim Faulkner is responsible for the global operations of the organization. His 35 years of experience allows him to effectively manage all operating aspects of the company and maintain a streamlined and efficient organization of over 450 associates. He leads the development and delivery of the annual operating plans. Under his leadership, The Breeden Company has become a vertically integrated and nationally acclaimed real estate development company and industry juggernaut. While providing inventive solutions and expanding business capabilities, Tim continues to be focused on developing and delivering improved asset conditions, providing outstanding client service and driving profitable revenue growth through the Construction, Property Management, Development and Commercial Realty divisions. Tim is respected as a credible voice in decision making, finding strategic financing partners and establishing governance boundaries.
Prior to working for The Breeden Company, Tim held the position of President and Chief Operating Officer of Lawton Lumber Company where he worked on streamlining and evaluating manufacturing and operational processes. Prior to working with Lawton Lumber Company, he served as Vice President of Operations for American Coating Technologies and served as a Process Engineer and Production Manager for Proctor and Gamble.
Tim received his Bachelor of Science in Operations Research and Systems Analysis with a Minor in Civil Engineering in 1986 from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He then spent 4 years in the United States Army as a Platoon Leader, Assistant Operations Officer and Battalion Personnel Officer in the 82nd Airborne Division, Ft. Liberty, North Carolina.
C. Torrey Breeden is Executive Vice President of The Breeden Company, a fully integrated real estate company specializing in property development, investment and management.
Torrey is actively involved in land acquisition and development of new communities across the country. He is responsible for leading the vision of the company’s projects as well as future growth planning of commercial and multifamily developments.
Torrey began working for The Breeden Company after graduating from the McIntire School of Commerce at The University of Virginia, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Marketing.
Jake H. Marshall, CPA, serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at The Breeden Company. Jake brings a wealth of expertise in strategic planning, financial management and operational efficiency. Prior to his current role, Jake served as the Vice President of Acquisitions and Development, a position in which he oversaw the financial structuring of major projects.
In his role as Chief Operating Officer, Jake oversees the company’s day-to-day operations, ensuring that all departments work seamlessly to achieve organizational goals. His leadership is instrumental in driving growth and innovation, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Before joining The Breeden Company, Jake held various senior positions in prominent firms such as Ernst & Young and Revolution, a private equity firm in Washington, DC, where he was responsible for financial oversight, compliance and risk management.
Jake holds a master’s degree in accounting from Old Dominion University; he has an undergraduate degree from William and Mary. His professional affiliations and credentials include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Association of Certified Public Accountants.
As Chief Accounting Officer, Lawrence Dunn is responsible for accounting, budgeting and financial reporting, human resources and employee benefits, and property and casualty insurance for The Breeden Company.
Mr. Dunn has held several positions within The Breeden Company. In 1991, he began working as a vice president and controller. In 1995, he was named the Chief Financial Officer for VSA Resorts, an affiliate of The Breeden Company. There, he was responsible for all financial reporting, accounting, human resources, collections, administration and financing activities. He has been Chief Accounting Officer of The Breeden Company since 2003.
Before joining The Breeden Company, Mr. Dunn served in various capacities for Farm Fresh, Inc., a regional full-service supermarket chain in Virginia. Over a ten-year period he held several positions including staff accountant, internal auditor and division controller.
Mr. Dunn received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting in 1981 from Old Dominion University. Mr. Dunn previously served as president of the Phillip Lake Homeowners association and treasurer of the Hampton River Coalition, an organization formed to work for the dredging, maintenance and preservation of the Hampton River.
Terry M. Marshall is the Chief Financial Officer of The Breeden Company. He is responsible for strategic planning and budget formulation for construction and acquisition proposals, the debt and equity structure for projects as well as related legal matters, financial analysis of proposed and current projects, and reporting of financial results to The Breeden Company's executive management team. As a member of the executive management team, he is responsible for the financial structure for commercial properties, residential properties, land acquisition and improved property acquisitions.
Mr. Marshall has been the Chief Financial Officer for The Breeden Company since 1986. Prior to working with The Breeden Company, Mr. Marshall was the Cashier of Commerce Bank and responsible for operations, personnel, accounting and regulatory reporting. Prior to that, he was employed by the State Corporation Commission as a commercial bank examiner.
Mr. Marshall received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1978.
Mark E. Pendleton is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Breeden Realty, the commercial leasing and sales division of The Breeden Company. Mark is responsible for commercial land acquisition, maximizing the income of the portfolio of commercial properties, overseeing the marketing of all commercial and retail properties to include third-party leasing management and negotiating all national commercial leases and outparcel sales.
Mark has been involved with anchored, in-line retail centers, unanchored retail centers and, more recently, mixed-use lifestyle centers such as Towne Center West in Richmond, Virginia, and Villages of Stoney Run in Newport News, Virginia.
Mark has over 30 years of experience in commercial property brokerage. In 1991, he joined The Breeden Company as a commercial leasing agent with the responsibility for securing local and national tenants and negotiating lease terms. In 1996, Mark became Vice President of The Breeden Company's commercial division, and in 2000 he was promoted to President of Breeden Realty.
Mark is an Associate Broker and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Old Dominion University.
Brian K. Revere is President of Breeden Construction, LLC, the general contracting division of The Breeden Company. Mr. Revere is responsible for overseeing the construction operations for in-house developments and third-party engagements for select clients. His experience with nationally ranked developers allows him to understand the importance of managing construction costs and scheduling throughout the entire process, beginning with the due diligence stage, to ensure the success of each project.
Mr. Revere has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry with a specialized focus on multifamily housing, mixed-use developments, parking garages, retail/restaurant and tenant improvements. He joined The Breeden Company in 2003 as a project manager responsible for overseeing the design, pre-construction and construction activities for the company’s multifamily and commercial developments. In 2011, Mr. Revere was promoted to President of Breeden Construction, LLC.
Prior to joining The Breeden Company, Mr. Revere served as project manager for the national REIT, Archstone-Smith, overseeing the construction of luxury multifamily projects in the Washington, DC and West Palm Beach, FL markets. He also served as an assistant project manager for Bovis Lend Lease, a global project management and construction company.
Mr. Revere received his Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction from Virginia Tech.
Bonnie Moore is President of Property Management for The Breeden Company and brings over 30 years of experience in operations, development and training. In her role, she has direct oversight of the residential and commercial property management divisions’ strategic initiatives, ensuring the development and growth of The Breeden Company’s residential portfolio continues to grow, with a focus on third-party management, and ensuring the organization’s commercial portfolio remains strong. Bonnie has years of successful experience in generating performance strategies and managing client relations, education, quality assurance, compliance, business integrations, maintenance and ancillary revenue programs for the two divisions.
Bonnie is a Virginia Tech alumni. After her collegiate tenure, she worked in Washington, DC for a developer and management company where she served as the accounts payable and accounts receivable manager. Her operational expertise attracted K&K Toys in Chesapeake, VA where she became the manager. Her talents ensured success at one of the most sought-after retailers in that time.
Throughout her career, Bonnie has served on numerous boards, instructed nationally accredited classes for the multifamily industry and donated her time and attention to several organizations in the Hampton Roads area including the Virginia Beach Surf and Rescue Museum.
Brenda Karp, Vice President, Business Development is responsible for creating strategic commercial real estate and multifamily business partnerships and driving new revenue sources for the organization. Brenda works closely with the President and Chief Executive Officer to create the long-term strategic vision for the company and advances new business development opportunities.
With a distinguished career, spanning more than 25 years in commercial real estate, Brenda's expertise includes sales, leasing, market development, acquisitions and partnerships. In her previous role as Vice President and Associate Broker of Breeden Realty, the commercial real estate division of The Breeden Company, Brenda specialized in sales and leasing, securing and retaining quality tenants and improving co-tenancy in regional and neighborhood shopping centers. Her career includes positions with Divaris Real Estate, Richfood and Heilig-Meyers Furniture.
Brenda is actively involved in business and community organizations. She currently serves on the CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) Coastal Board of Directors, CREW Global Network Scholarship Selection Committee, Membership Chair of ULI (Urban Land Institute) Virginia, VCU Real Estate Circle of Excellence and Greater Norfolk Corporation Mentorship program. Brenda is a Past President of CREW Richmond and served on the CREW Global Network Foundation Board. She is a Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation supporter and volunteer and has also served on the Board of Directors.
Christine Gustafson is The Breeden Company's Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations. In this role, Christine is responsible for enterprise-wide marketing and corporate communications for all aspects of the organization. As The Breeden Company builds on its reputation as a nationally recognized multifamily real estate development firm setting new standards for innovative design and community experiences, Christine’s oversight includes marketing, advertising, product development, corporate communications, social and traditional media engagement and community engagement activities, with an overall focus on propelling The Breeden Company's reputation as a trusted real estate development brand.
For over 20 years, she has served in a number of marketing roles, including innovation, brand management, advertising and customer marketing. Christine began her career in the multifamily realm, working for companies such as Trammell Crow and ING Realty. Christine serves on the board of directors for Eggleston, a Norfolk, VA-based non-profit; the Virginia Apartment Management Association; and Virginia Beach SPCA.
Christine earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Human Development and Psychology from Virginia Tech.
Jim Pauliks, SHRM-CP, serves as the Director of Human Resources at The Breeden Company. With over 15 years of experience in human resources management, Jim is a seasoned professional known for his strategic vision and dedication to fostering a positive workplace culture.
In his role as Director of Human Resources, Jim is responsible for overseeing all Human Resources functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management and compliance. His leadership is pivotal in developing and implementing HR policies that align with the company’s goals and values, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment for all employees.
Prior to joining The Breeden Company, Jim held key HR positions in various industries, where he successfully led initiatives to enhance employee engagement, streamline HR processes, and improve organizational effectiveness. His expertise in change management and conflict resolution has been instrumental in navigating complex workplace dynamics and driving continuous improvement.
Jim received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Kennedy Western University.
Dale Sennie is The Breeden Company’s Director of Innovative Technology. He is instrumental in providing leadership for the continued development of an innovative, robust, and secure information technology environment throughout the company. In his role, Dale explores emerging technologies, assesses their impact on the company’s business, prototypes and evaluates new concepts, and recommends new strategies and solutions. He is also responsible for the company’s industry standards engagements, divisional collaborations and technical engagement programs.
Prior to joining The Breeden Company in 2015, Dale was a senior engineer for a consulting firm. He also served in the United States Navy as a Machinest Mate/Boiler Technician on USS Ponce, stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. After his military commitment, Dale attended ECPI, focusing on electronics communications and fiber optics.
Dale continues his professional goal of the company adapting to fast-paced technology changes without affecting the business process. He continues to utilize the latest technologies available to improve the company’s communications.
